House rules

Van der Valk Hotel Veenendaal (hereinafter referred to as 'Hotel Veenendaal') has set out in a number of house rules what is expected of its visitors and what you may expect from us. When entering Hotel Veenendaal the house rules of Hotel Veenendaal apply and you agree with the house rules as stated below.

Safety

  • All instructions given by employees on behalf of Hotel Veenendaal, related to the house rules, must be followed immediately. In all matters in which these rules do not comply, the employees (on behalf) of Hotel Veenendaal are authorized to decide. Our staff is authorized to terminate a reservation immediately, without returning the amount paid for the room.
  • Within Hotel Veenendaal we appreciate the use of the public areas, however this is done at your own risk.
  • At Hotel Veenendaal we treat each other with respect and it is therefore forbidden to insult or make discriminatory remarks and it is forbidden to sexually harass our guests and staff by word or gesture (action).
  • Cameras are present in various locations within the hotel for your safety. Everyone who enters the hotel consents to possible recordings. In the event of incidents, these recordings may be used.
  • To maintain peace in the immediate vicinity of Hotel Veenendaal, it is not permitted to cause excessive noise.
  • During your presence you will make use of property of Hotel Veenendaal and third parties, it is forbidden to commit theft or vandalism.
  • It is not permitted to make visual recordings on the grounds or in the general areas of Hotel Veenendaal without permission from the management.
  • To maintain peace, order and safety within Hotel Veenendaal, it is forbidden to use or threaten to use violence.
  • In order to offer you and your family, friends and acquaintances a pleasant stay, it is prohibited to possess, use or trade (soft) drugs (including nitrous oxide) or weapons.
  • Hotel Veenendaal does not make its premises available for purposes other than those set forth in our policy. It is therefore forbidden to trade in goods, steal or offer and/or receive  adult services (prostitution). If this is observed, the reservation will be terminated immediately. The amount of a room already paid will not be refunded. 
  • Hotel Veenendaal has to comply with the requirements of the Alcohol Act. Alcoholic beverages will therefore not be provided to visitors under the age of 18. When in doubt about the age of a visitor, Hotel Veenendaal staff will ask you to show proof of identity and age.
  • In order not to negatively affect the atmosphere during the stay, alcohol will no longer be served to the person if drunkenness is suspected.
  • We do not serve alcoholic beverages before 11:00 hrs. in the morning.
  • The staff of Hotel Veenendaal watches over your safety. In case of emergency the emergency plan will be activated. You are urgently requested to follow any instructions given by the staff.
  • Please do not leave your belongings on the Hotel Veenendaal premises and in your car unattended. Hotel Veenendaal is not liable for loss, damage or theft of your property. Parking, in the parking garage or around the hotel/area of Hotel Veenendaal is at your own risk.

Regulations Hotel Rooms & Suites

  • Check-in is possible from 15:00 hrs. and check-out should be before 12:00 hrs. (noon). If you wish to stay longer or book a late check out (up to max. 17:00 hrs. and only possible based on availability) you need to let us know before 12:00 hrs. (noon). Also, the extension should be paid before 12:00 hrs. (noon), after which we will extend your key card.
  • The total number of persons booked per room, is the maximum number of persons allowed into the room. If multiple rooms are booked, these persons may not be together in any of these rooms.
  • Food and/or drinks left in a checked-out room will be discarded.
  • Each hotel guest must pay the total amount of the entire stay in advance, or have a valid credit card guarantee registered at check-in. If this is not the case, the staff member (on behalf) of Hotel Veenendaal may deny access to the room at any time.
  • In case of (partial) cancellation within the terms and conditions, the amount already paid will be refunded after settlement through the same payment method.
  • Pets (maximum 2 per room) are only allowed in our Comfort rooms, based on availability. A surcharge applies and must be booked in advance.
  • For all our Suites we require a deposit of €150. This can only be paid by PIN or Credit Card.
  • Smoking is prohibited throughout the property, including in hotel rooms. Smoking in the window opening is also prohibited. If it is found that people have smoked in the room, we will charge a fine of €150, which must be paid immediately at the reception desk.
  • There are smoke detectors throughout the hotel and in all rooms. If these are found to be covered, removed or otherwise sabotaged you must leave the premises immediately. The amount of any stay already paid for will not be refunded. 
  • Anyone 18 years of age or older may reserve a room. In each travel party, at least 1 person must be 18 years of age or older. The person who books a trip (also) for other participants is liable for all others he or she registers. With respect to underage travelers, parental or guardian consent must be demonstrated. If a traveler is not yet 18 years of age, we kindly request to contact us by phone.

Regulations Wellness Center & Fitness

  • The Wellness Center & Fitness are open to guests 16 years and older.
  • Our Wellness Center & Fitness are only accessible to guests staying at our hotel.
  • Wearing swimwear in the sauna is mandatory.
  • In the gym, we ask that you wear appropriate sportswear and clean athletic shoes and clean the equipment after use.
  • Cell phones are not allowed in all facilities to ensure the privacy of other guests.
  • The use of a locker in the changing rooms is strongly recommended. Hotel Veenendaal is not responsible for loss or theft of personal property.
