Location

Kamp Amersfoort National Monument

On this site, the German occupiers held about 40,000 people prisoner for short or long periods of time from August 1941 until the liberation in 1945. Hundreds of them were murdered here or died from hardship. More than 20,000 prisoners were deported to other camps in occupied Europe. Thousands of them were murdered or died in other ways. Kamp Amersfoort is here to tell their stories from that time to the present.
